Ever wonder how manipulation works.? Why an issue becomes an issue? Who wins? Who looses? Is the Wall Street Journal in distortion mode, on Net Neutrality? Some folks think so. Does that make it true? Why care?
Consider two issues: WMD and Net Neutrality. First, pick on someone, or entity. Position them, as, well, evil, a threat to the status-quo through a perceived ill, or wrong doing.
Crank up the media to support the thesis. Force the target to re- act to your agenda. Reaction is commonly, perceived as quilt. It must be true, right? Because someone, an expert, said, it's so.
Here's how it's done.
LMG uses a “political campaign model” that integrates expertise in the subject matter, message development, aggressive, research-driven paid and earned media, on-the-ground coalition building, preparation of analytical and other policy papers, and a host of next-generation services such as viral and online campaigns.... Are we witnessing a WMD type attack on net neutrality. Barrack Obama favors open access. Is this the political hill to die on, as the first conflict, he addresses?
Hearings are coming, in January, in the US, in February in Canada. Unless of course, we have an election. That would give Bell, Rogers, Shaw, and Telus lots of time to chart the course, here. The table is being set. Global Telcos and cable companies are in, high, distortion mode.
Manipulation is, everywhere. Consider Bell Canada's recent throttling of it's network, effectively, limiting competition, aided and abetted by the CRTC. In February, the CRTC is going to investigate Net Neutrality. Hmm, closing the barn door comes to mind. Why hearings, after a decision? Optics? Creating perception?
What is net neutrality? Why is it important to you?
